My Tiny Alaskan Oven

My Tiny Alaskan Oven

Step aboard the LaDonna Rose, our 32-foot commercial fishing boat, where I’ve spent years cooking from a tiny 4×7-foot galley while my husband Ole and I commercial fish the waters of Southeast Alaska.

My Tiny Alaskan Oven is filled with the real, down-to-earth meals I make aboard our boat using a tiny oil stove and simple ingredients. These are recipes created for busy days, small kitchens and anyone who loves good food without a lot of fuss.

Salmon, Desserts & Friends

Salmon, Desserts & Friends will always be a special cookbook to me. It features more than 50 recipes, from wild Alaska salmon dishes to some of my favorite desserts, along with beautiful photography by my husband Ole.

This book is now out of print, but I wanted to keep it here as part of my cookbook journey and the story of the recipes, fishing life and Alaska experiences that eventually led to the books I’m still creating today.

The Little Alaskan Salmon Cookbook

This little cookbook has become one of my most popular Alaska books, and it brings together 33 of our favorite wild salmon recipes from several of my earlier cookbooks.

Ole and I have spent decades commercial fishing for wild Alaska salmon, so these are recipes that come straight from our life here in Southeast Alaska. They’re simple, approachable and easy to prepare at home, whether you’re cooking salmon for the first time or have been enjoying it for years.

And I love that the book is just a little bigger than a postcard, making it an easy piece of Alaska to take home with you!

The Little Alaskan Halibut Cookbook

Living and commercial fishing in Southeast Alaska has given Ole and me a deep appreciation for one of Alaska’s most incredible wild fish: halibut.

This little cookbook is filled with some of our favorite ways to prepare it, with easy, delicious recipes that let the flavor of wild Alaska halibut shine. Whether you’ve brought home your own catch or picked up halibut from your local market, these recipes make it easy to bring a little taste of Alaska to your table.

The Little Alaskan Shrimp Cookbook

Shrimp has always been one of my favorite Alaska seafoods to cook with, and this little cookbook is filled with 40 of my favorite shrimp recipes.

I kept these recipes simple, flavorful and easy to prepare, using just a handful of ingredients whenever possible. They’re made for busy days when you still want something delicious on the table without spending hours in the kitchen.

Whether you’re cooking wild Alaska shrimp or shrimp from your local market, I hope these recipes bring a little taste of Alaska to your table!

Crab is one of Alaska’s most incredible seafoods, and this little cookbook is filled with some of our favorite ways to prepare it, from breakfast all the way through dinner.

I also walk you through the process of catching, cleaning and cooking Alaska crab, sharing some of what Ole and I have learned from years of living and fishing in Southeast Alaska.

The recipes are simple, delicious and easy to make at home, bringing a little taste of Alaska to your table no matter where you live.

Keta the Alaskan Sea Cat

Keta was inspired by our real life aboard our commercial fishing boat, the LaDonna Rose and my love of sharing Alaska with children!

Follow Keta as she explores Southeast Alaska, meets whales and other wildlife, discovers her love of salmon and learns about sustainable fishing with her “pawrents.” Along the way, she even experiences the magic of the northern lights!

It’s a fun Alaska adventure that introduces children to the wildlife, beauty and fishing life that make our home so special.

Nighty Night Northern Lights

Come along with Keta for another fun Alaska adventure! Inspired by our life aboard the LaDonna Rose, this sweet bedtime story follows Keta as she says good night to her Alaska wildlife friends and settles in beneath the beautiful Northern Lights.

Along the way, children meet playful Alaska animals, explore the beauty of Southeast Alaska and share in the wonder of Keta’s world.

Ole and I had so much fun creating this book, and we hope Keta brings a little Alaska adventure, lots of smiles and sweet dreams to families everywhere!
